Shawn Kaufman is a Lighting Designer with over 20 years of experience in television, fashion, special events and theatre. Specializing in illumination for media and television, Shawn has been specifically working with clients where detail and level of light is highly specialized and required. Most recent designs for clients have included Tom Ford since the release of his first women’s collection for his own brand, Zac Posen, Zimmerman, Marchesa, Greg Lauren, Isabel Mirant, Céline, Givenchy, Chloe, Public School. Recent projects also include events for the Wexner Foundation, the Wexner Center, QVC, MTV, CBS, Phillips Auction House, Tiffany, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Estee Lauder, Kohl’s, Armani Exchange, Vogue Magazine, St. John, Bombardier, Target, GQ, Hermes, Y3, The Elder Statesman, Microsoft, Ivanka Trump, Moncler, Halston, Macys, Lands End, the Gap, Rockefeller Center, Zegna, Oxygen Network, Hugo Boss. Shawn is currently Lighting Designer for Harry Connick Jr’s daytime show HARRY, and is also working with clients such as Nike and Adidas. TV experience includes: QVC Red Carpet Style, The Face Finale, CNBC studio relight, Wendy Williams (Fox Network), The Apprentice Martha Stewart and Donald Trump, Martha Live and Rachael Ray Live.
Recent theatrical work includes Carmen at Portland Opera, Dialogues of the Carmelites at Austin Lyric Opera and Pittsburgh Opera, Orpheus in the Underworld at Glimmerglass Opera, I Pagliacci and Xerxes at Pittsburgh Opera.
