Founded in 2012, On Site Opera is dedicated to producing site-specific opera in non-traditional venues throughout New York. On Site Opera molds its productions to specific locations using physical space to create an environment in which the concept, storytelling, music, and performers unite to form an immersive, cohesive, and meaningful whole. By bringing opera out of traditional theaters and into the community, On Site Opera also has the opportunity to reach underserved audiences.

On Site Opera's mission is to:
  • produce site-specific productions in venues throughout New York City
  • enrich the cultural life of New York by bringing opera to new audiences
  • foster emerging talent through performance and production opportunities
  • collaborate with local organizations and schools to build community relationships and reach new audiences
  • explore new technology and production methods in order to reduce the company’s environmental impact
