  • We are thrilled to announce our upcoming site-specific production of Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors" December 6, 7, & 8. The holiday classic will be performed at the @holyapostlessoupkitchen, in partnership with Breaking Ground, New York City's largest provider of permanent supportive housing for the homeless, and the performances will feature a chorus made up of community members who have experienced homelessness. In lieu of tickets, we are running a food drive, and are asking patrons to bring a small donation of non-perishable food items to be donated to the Soup Kitchen. Reservations are required and ticket reservations will be available beginning Tuesday, October 23. #AmahlOSO
  • We're excited to partner with @unisonmedia and The Angel's Share for the world premiere of @greggkallor’s "Sketches from Frankenstein," which will be performed in the Catacombs at The Green-Wood Cemetery on October 10, 11, and 12. The piece coincides with the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s groundbreaking novel, and consists of operatic sketches based on the monster’s harrowing tale. The performance also features a reprise of Kallor's acclaimed setting of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, "The Tell-Tale Heart," which we co-produced in October 2016. • Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano will perform the monodrama, The Tell-Tale Heart, as well as the role of Elizabeth Frankenstein, baritone Joshua Jeremiah will sing The Monster, and tenor Brian Cheney will sing Dr. Frankenstein. #catacombs #operaincoolplaces #frankenstein
