Tenor David Blalock begins his 2019-2020 season with his Metropolitan Opera debut as Pong in Puccini’s Turandot. Other recent credits include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with Opera Hong Kong and Pensacola Opera, the title role in Pélleas et Mélisande with West Edge Opera, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore with Piedmont Opera, Sam in Street Scene with Virginia Opera, Alfredo in La Traviata with Arizona Opera, Nikolaus Sprink in Silent Night with Atlanta Opera, a concert of arias and opera highlights with the San Francisco Symphony, Ferrando in Così fan tutte with Opera San Jose, Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Virginia Opera, Ring Announcer in Champion with Washington National Opera, and the title role in La Clemenza di Tito with the Maryland Opera Studio. Upcoming engagements for David include a return to On Site Opera for Barber of Seville to reprise his role of Count Almaviva, as well as the title role in Orpheus in the Underworld with Madison Opera.
