Brian Jeffers
Brian Jeffers is a NYC-based performer praised for his flexible and heroic tenor (Opera News). He has been seen performing with Chautauqua Opera, New Amsterdam Opera, Opera Saratoga, and Bronx Opera. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, he received his BM from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and MM from Arizona State University. He is a Nebraska District winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and a recipient of a Felder Fellowship from the Aspen Opera Center. A frequent performer of new music, he premiered Jonathan Dawe’s Nero and the Fall of Lehman Brothers, was a Guest Artist at The Juilliard School for Dawe’s revival of Cracked Orlando, and premiered Gilda Lyons’ Leavings, written for him at Chautauqua Opera. Select concert, opera, and musical theatre credits include roles in The Creation, King David, L’Elisir D’Amore, Owen Wingrave, The Ghosts of Versailles, Die Zauberflӧte, Anything Goes, Candide, Children of Eden, and as a backing vocalist for Kristin Chenoweth and the Phoenix Symphony. He is so excited to be part of the Little Island Festival, and to help celebrate NYC with a return to live music.
