Christopher Staub named new Director of Production
On Site Opera is excited to announce the latest addition to its staff!
September 4, 2019 – Christopher Staub has been appointed the company’s first Director of Production. Christopher brings with him over fourteen years of experience in opera production. Prior to OSO, Chris was the Production Stage Manager at The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY, calling performances and supervising the stage management staff as well as the young artist stage directors. He managed Glimmerglass’s recent world premiere of Blue by Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson in addition to frequently collaborating with Francesca Zambello, General and Artistic Director of the festival. Chris moved to New York City from Texas where he was a stage manager at the Houston Grand Opera for over a decade. Some of his notable HGO credits include all four operas in Wagner’s Ring Cycle, the premiere of Heggie & Scheer’s opera It’s a Wonderful Life, West Side Story, and all of the Mozart/Da Ponte operas. Chris graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Speech Communication from Ithaca College, NY.
