Meet the artist behind Blue Monday: Clayton Mathews
Up-and-coming bass-baritone Clayton Mathews plays the club owner Mike in On Site Opera’s production of Gershwin’s “Blue Monday” at the Cotton Club. In this interview, Mr. Mathews talks about making his New York debut, his family history with the Harlem Renaissance, and why he likes to play the bad guy (and sings from the opening aria!)
