David Kahng

Bass-Baritone David Kahng (he/him), hailing from Cheonan, South Korea, is a second-year master’s student in Voice at Mannes School of Music studying with William Burden. Kahng received his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University. His most recent appearances have included Howard in Missy Mazzoli’s new opera The Listeners, Dulcamara in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at Seoul Geumcheon-gu Art Hall, Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte in Seoul, South Korea. Kahng was a semi-finalist of NYIOP Premiere Opera Foundation International Competition, and he received an Encouragement Award in The Metropolitan Competition Georgia District. In the 2022 season, Kahng will join Wolf Trap Opera as a Studio Artist where he will make his company debut in the role of Barone in Verdi’s La traviata.
