Laura Soto-Bayomi

Soprano, Laura Soto-Bayomi (she/her), has been applauded for her thrilling performance and heart-wrenching lyricism. Laura is passionate about bringing new works to life, as well as reviving well-loved classics. This year, Laura continued her portrayal of Orsia in the workshop of David Hanlon and Stephanie Fleishmann’s opera, The Pigeon Keeper, with Santa Fe Opera’s: “Opera for All Voices” initiative which supports composer/librettist teams as they create new operatic works. May 2023, Laura made her role debut as Violetta in La Traviata, collaborating again with City Lyric Opera, after her performance in an Alice in Wonderland retelling, as Alice (The Garden of Alice.) In 2022 she premiered the role of Luisa in Zorro (Opera Southwest.) Laura lended her voice to the workshops of The Pigeon Keeper (Santa Fe Opera), Working for the Macbeths and The Opposable Thumb (American Lyric Theater.) Following the pandemic, Laura was thrilled to perform Rossini roles with Opera Southwest in Albuquerque (Isabella, in L’inganno felice and Lucilla in La scala di seta.)
