Edward Morgan
Unlike any other company TheEdwardMorganBallet manages to exhibit versatility, originality, and accessibility while maintaining integrity and commitment to its high level of artistry. Morgan a former principal of the original Joffrey Ballet NYC, as well as former director of the original Joffrey Ballet’s second company NYC, has performed from the The Ancient Amphitheater’s in Greece to the Arsenio Hall Show in Hollywood. Always a risk taker, Morgan took stars of the Joffrey Ballet to MTV’S successful television dance show where he then became the choreographer of ClubMTV, choreographing over 30 works and merging ballet with hip-hop and jazz. This was the beginning of a new style of dance that influenced choreographers in film, television, and dance videos that is widely imitated today. Morgan has now launched a new ballet theatre company of his own TheEdwardMorganBallet. Known for its classical ballets and theatre direction which include many forms of music, media, art installation, opera, and contemporary theatre works, the company has been performing across the globe from Carnegie Hall with Al Jarreau to helping under served children perform at UNESCO in Paris, France. TheEdwardMorganBallet has just finished its 3rd Annual Ballet For The Homeless Benefit, the companies mission is “Dance To Heal The World!” On a spiritual note, at 16 years old Edward had his first professional job while still in high school choreographing Amahl And The Night Visitors at Saint Phillips College in his hometown in San Antonio, Texas. www.edwardmoragnballet.org
