Kathryn Roberts

Kathryn is the Director of Business Development at CDR Studio Architects. She joined CDR Studio full time in April 2018, but her relationship with the firm dates back more than 20 years as a freelance special-projects manager. Her current role includes corporate outreach, communications and marketing.
Kathryn graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 1992. She spent her early career as a writer and editor with the building and construction trade press, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainable design. She went on to work for Chicago’s largest Hispanic-based, nonprofit, grassroots community group, where she oversaw media relations and print communications. She parlayed that experience into a successful freelance career providing writing, editing and desktop-publishing expertise to a diverse group of clients, including government officials, nonprofit organizations and community-based groups. Most recently, she spent 14 years working for Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York, serving as their Webmaster and Bulletin Editor.
